Well, perhaps love is a bit strong, but he did make me laugh. I've never really liked Ashton Kutcher(what kind of name is that anyway? Right up there with Blaine). He's the same joke over and over, but then I saw "Open Season" and he gotme. There's this one scene... well, I'd LOVE to show you, but ever since Blogger made me switch to "New Crappy Blogger" I get no joy fromYouTube- nothing posts. Zip! And don't get me started on what using the spell check does to my posts! GRAAAAAAH!
It's very frustrating. So while love maybe a bit much HATE isn't! HATE, HATE, HATE technical difficulties! They make my brain hurt. If you can't bang on the machine and make it work then what is the hard casing for?
Anyhow, if you need a smile and are interested in Aston's interpretation of my relationship with Starbucks you can check it out here. Funny stuff.
Grrrr, stupid Blogger... make me change over.... won't post....

I'll have to take your word for it--I don't think I can make myself sit down and watch Msr. Kutcher after enduring Butterfly Effect ("Dude, you're so deep, man. Way to solve that 'gotta-save-my-girl' crisis in the most bizarre, frustrating, butt-headed way possible."), and while waiting for new tires over at Firestone, I was forced to watch Dude, Where's My Car?. If only there were some way to have that memory surgically removed; had someone been there with a handy eyeball-ectomy device, I'd have happily taken it. I tried to grade, but the braying, goofy glibness would pierce my ears and slice into my brain like a rusty filleting knife...
Okay, it wasn't that bad. But it was bad. Ashton is the Keanu of Generation X, only I suspect that he won't be as successful playing emotionless men of the future...
I advise watching "The Guardian" if you want to wash the nasty Kelso-esque Kutcher taste out of your mouth. As much as I dislike his bumbling buffoonish ways, "The Guardian" has given me fresh eyes for his acting potential. Alas, I have not been able to find a movie that will do the same for Keanu. He's tolerable in "The Lake House," but I can't help flashing back to his woeful turn in "Much Ado About Nothing." Entrusting Keanu with the works of Shakespeare is like entrusting a prairie dog with a Fabergé Egg... completely nonsensical. ;o)
I concur with Risa's post. I actually put off seeing "The Guardian" solely out of the fact that even hearing AK's name made me cringe. However, my mom is of the same opinion of him and went to see the movie. Her comment was, "I couldn't stand to ever watch Ashton Kutcher before, but this movie gave me a whole new opinion of him." So, months later, I finally rented it. And I have to say I had the same reaction as my mom and Risa. I think the reason it was so great was because he wasn't playing anything remotely like his true self (well, as much of his 'true self' that we've seen from his past material, anyway.) He did an amazing job. I was impressed (and relieved).
Beth, I loved the snippet from "Open Season". I cracked up! That is also my relationship with Starbucks. It makes me sick to my stomach after every cup, literally, but I can't resist it! I drink, thirty minutes later my stomach does the rhumba, and I think, "Ugh ! I'll NEVER touch that stuff AGAIN!!!!!.... for at least the next three days...." Which leads me to believe that there's more than just coffee in each cardboard-wrapped cup.....because I keep coming back for more !
Btw, THANK YOU for the post you left on my blog. It blessed me so much. If only we lived closer.... and we could do Starbucks like you suggested.... SEE ! There I go again !!! What is in those cups ?!?!?! I know they're environmentally safe and recycled...are they recycled from some type of "happy plant"? We must get to the bottom of this...!
Love ya !
